Monitor Epicor SaaS Connectivity

I have to program that will monitor network connectivity. I want to add Epicor to it. Should I use the IP address to the server or the server hostname that shows up at the bottom of the Epicor window?

Thanks!

Hello Andrew,

This is something that I’m interested too, however more than just connectivity to Azure. What I was thinking was a PowerShell script that could check various network times, read a trace to see how long for a login, check to see how many tasks are running, simple report run, etc and log that into a central location (maybe Azure) to do some analysis. This would also be useful for on-prem users.

Currently I am also trying to test ping times did anyone find answers to the above.

Our office internet is averages 48Mbps and latency average 33 ms
We are looking to upgrade service to “100Mbps” though I am concerned the latency will still be an issue.

Any SaaS user recommendations on Wifi Routers?

Thanks

WiFi is a convenience.

Personally and professionally if I want the best connection and performance possible, I make sure its wired with a hard connection. Unfortunately, we may not have the luxury of running cables in certain areas. We use Ubiquity WAPs for WiFi

WiFi is not as stable as a wired connection.
You can see that by running a ping test with a WiFi connection comparing to a wired connection. http://ping-test.net/. You will notice that the ping (latency) is very much steady whereas a wifi connection has ping spikes.

Thank you for your reply.

I agree that hard wire is better.

I do want to do a ping test to the epicor SaaS server does anyone know the IP Address for the server or is it even possible to do a ping test?

It’s possible but don’t ping the IP address as it might change. Use the domain name:

ping centralusdt.pilot00.epicorsaas.com

The server is listed in your sysconfig file.

Great thank you so much!!

The ping test results show average 68 ms! Slow
This is much slower than others?

We are going to upgrade router and go to 100Mbps which I hope helps, any other suggestions? I am going to do the ping test on other wired computers and compare/share results too.

Thanks

There are also Azure Speed sites like Azure Latency Test - Azure Speed Test to see what’s happening outside of your network.
