The PartBin table simply captures the latest quantity. You need to
look at the PartTran table to see the transactions that led to the
latest quantity. I would assume it could be done, but I would be
using ODBC and working in Access by that point. : )

Can anyone supply me the query or the proper syntax for a month to
date sales report that i can run using Vantage Dashboard?

I'm a total rookie using Business Activity Query and I'm not sure how
to create totals that can be displayed in the Vantage Dashboard.

In 6.1 you can't total in the Business activity query.
On the other hand, you can set your query to export to an XML and ASP page,
and from there draw it into excel and create a pivot table that updates
automatically.
You might even be able to go directly to the XML export if you try....
But, no totals in Dashboard until V8.

It's tricky even in reports. You have to take Partbin values and then back out any transactions from that partbin location(s) back to the desired date.

The normal stock status report allows you to enter the cutoff date and
pulls information from the parttran table to allow you to get historical
totals. If you need it in electronic form, it is one of the nice
reports in Vantage that puts the txt file in your temporary working
directory.

The PartBin table simply captures the latest quantity. You need to
look at the PartTran table to see the transactions that led to the
latest quantity. I would assume it could be done, but I would be
using ODBC and working in Access by that point. : )

Yes, we created the BAQ because we wanted to add a UOM in the part
table. I'll have to talk to our CFO and clarify a few things.

The normal stock status report allows you to enter the cutoff date and
pulls information from the parttran table to allow you to get historical
totals. If you need it in electronic form, it is one of the nice
reports in Vantage that puts the txt file in your temporary working
directory.
