MPS and Sales Order demand

I entered an MPS for 100 per month 5/1, 6/1, 9/1 and 12/1. MRP is generating demand to meet the MPS plus Sales Orders. Is there a way to get MRP to only generate demand based on the MPS and ignore Sales Orders?

Forecasts might work better. The sales order demand would reduce the forecast quantity.

Thanks - I tried this. Have Forecast for May, June, Sept and Dec. I entered a sales order to ship in June. No change in the forecast. How and when does the quantity consumed get updated? Do I need to run MRP?
