MRP and Orders

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to tell if the MRP created Job came from an Order demand?

I realize that most/all come from Orders, but I’m wondering if there’s a field somewhere that I’m missing that tells me the particular MRP JobNum was generated from an order demand.

I appreciate your time and help!

Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough above… MRP is creating jobs from order demand that’s out there as more orders come in. There’s also MRP created jobs that are generated through the Forecast Entry screen.

Is there a way to tell whether or not the MRP created job was created through what’s been entered in Forecast Entry?

In a make-to-order environment, each job will have a sales order demand link that will link it directly to the order it is satisfying. I believe a forecast will show as shipping from stock and the related MRP job will be make-to-stock instead of make-to-order, at least until the forecasted order is entered.

In make-to-stock, there is a process called Multi-Level Pegging which will effectively “peg” your supply quantities (incoming POs, jobs, incoming transfers, warehouse stock) to your demand (sales orders, forecasts, job materials, outgoing transfers).

Good afternoon and thank you! The business is actually make to stock, so when MRP runs it doesn’t track/mark orders for which the MRP job was created at all (make-to-order). They would like to know if the MRP-created-job came out of “regular demand” or if it came out of what was entered via the Forecast Entry screen. So far, I’m struggling greatly with find something/anything in the Epicor DB that could help me identify “Forecast-MRP-Jobs”…

You can have a look at the Multi Level Pegging screen, be sure to run the multi level pegging process first
