We are using Kinetic 2025.1.9 and only using network printing, no edge agent, which is working really well so far. Some of the printers on our print server are configured multiple times, one for the printer as a whole, and one or more times for the trays. Kinetic has these printers, but when I network print to one of the tray printers, it doesn’t pick that tray. Does anyone know of a way to make Kinetic print to a specific tray?
As long as you set tray and other items within the printer Advanced > Printing Defaults area they should stay honored properly.
We have the settings configured in that area, unfortunately, Kinetic still only uses the first tray.
And you verified the settings match on the Epicor side as well?
These should match the settings if you add printers to Epicor.
The settings match, the only part that I can’t match up is the Paper Source Kind because it doesn’t let me put a number for the tray.
I ended up creating two versions of the printer in the printer server. Each version has a default to different tray. When our people print they just select the printer with the tray they would like to use.
i.e. we have a pack slip label that is 5.5" x 8.5". This label is stacked in the manual paper tray. We copied our laserprinter setup in Windows and called the second instance “Pack Slip Labels”. Set the preferences to use the Manual Tray.
Sadly i have not found a way to automate this - hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.
