Ok great but can you put Hannah’s write up in as the details? Because right now its just an empty idea. I disagree that I want it to be simplified. I want control even if that entails complexity.
we will be including information from Hanna, and others into the Empathy session. We also have a proposed solution that DOES make it simple to understand and gives everyone more control. Empathy session is coming soon. We have 18 votes at this point, so we have a good contingent of users.
Thanks Tim!
If you would like to participate in the “Empathy session” where we are discussing future options on this topic, the link is here… the Session is scheduled to close on 10/20/2023 at noon Mountain time.
Here is the link: Browser First Empathy session
I like the empathy session discussion. Is there a way to see new replies or get notifications or something like that? I missed that there had been some new sub-thread replies when I returned to the session later.
i really wish that there was a way. Since this is the first time we are using the Empathy session feature of AHA, we are still learning. So far I like it, but I also see some areas of improvement that AHA could add to it. Since it is a new AHA Feature, they are still building out the solution.
I tried to get into the empathy session but I get this message. I just voted today as I was OOO yesterday and didn’t see this thread until now.
I tried to get in and it said, “wait for it to start,” but the dates for the meeting range from yesterday to Frida .
let me know your email address, and I will send the invites.
Hmm… it is open, and showing open on my screen. can you try again?
Sorry Tim, I wasn’t able to get to that yesterday. It looks like we had an outcome from the discussion. Thanks for organizing that!
Thank you all who were able to participate in our FIRST EMPATHY session… being that this was our first time, there were some things we learned about how to properly run the session, and what it can and cannot do. BUT we consider the session a great success, and thank you. This was not our last empathy session. We will start doing this more and more as we have questions about how things “should” work.
This is looking to be a great feature. Getting to hash out why things are done on both sides will make life better for both development and the users. Thanks for doing this.
Hi All,
Here is a preview video of the changes made to the browser first feature.
Please have a look in the following link:
New browser logic.mp4
If for some reason you’re not able to access it, please reach out to me.
Thanks,
David Martinez
It doesn’t show the one option I care about - has a classic customization but still able to open in browser.
@DavidMartinezEpicor Welcome to the forum! Let me be the the first to say thank you
, we appreciate you taking time to update us on the changes.
For normal users or as a developer? For uplifting the right click open they added will take care of that. As it is today uplifting in the browser requires setting up new menus this fixes that.
For anybody. I thought the point of the new feature was if we uncheck that new box, it will open the browser even when there is a classic customization.
Logistically how would that work? For example, we have a lot of UD fields that are in customization and required. Most screens would be unusable in the browser because of validation.
My chief complaint to Epicor on this was that if you have classic customization and classic is then forced, uplifting is a paint because you have to create new menu items or remove your classic customization to get to the browser version.
