New PayPal Gateway service

That looks to be website related. Are you utilizing an ecommerce solution? If you are just processing payments through PayPal you're not affected.

Does anybody know if the new PayPal gateway service affects how Vantage 8.03 handles credit card transactions?

I never really understood how this all works, I just got it to work.

Are you asking about Payflow and card processing? Are you looking for a third party processor such as authorize.net? I'm not exactly sure of what information you need.

Basically, Vantage supports using Payflow as your credit card payment gateway. You'll still need a merchant account or other party as your actual processor to run the card and post to your bank.

We got an email from PayPal saying that the have upgraded the Payflow gateway service's security and that as of 9/1/09, if systems using the service aren't upgraded, it will stop working.

I guess I assumed that everybody else got this same email. Here is the link we got in the email.
