Nonconformance and Move Requests

Scenario:

  1. New Inventory Nonconformance is created, and a move request is generated (STK-INS).

  2. Inventory nonconformance is processed, all quantity passed and put in original BIN.

  3. Original Move request is not removed from Material Request Queue and Move request is processed.

  4. Request is executed, with no warnings or errors, but Inventory is not actually moved in the system.

Is anyone using the QA module in conjunction with Material Move Requests and noticing this?

I would expect the request to go away when the nonconformance is processed. What’s even worse, is when I go and process the move request, I get no error, it seems to process, but nothing actually happens on the inventory side in the system.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I discovered this today (in 2024.2) and I’m trying to figure out the benefit of the Request Move checkbox.

We stopped using the checkbox.

The move request does work if the quantity is still pending inspection. It’s actually the only way to move inventory that is in INS. If you bypass creating the move request and put the qty straight into a BIN in INS, that’s it, you can’t perform inventory moves or anything on quantity that is in inspection, all you can do is inspect it. Makes it hard to track where stuff is if you need to physically move it.

Same issue still exists with quantity in a PCID that is SOPICK status, can’t move that either.
