Norton AntiVirus™ Corporate Edition 7.6

We've used NAV CorpED for over 3 years... thoughtful implementation
mitigates network and vantage speed issues. One NAV server downloads and
distributes client updates as soon as they're available. We've had 0 down
time on 120 workstations and servers from virus attacks (knock wood!).
2 thumbs up from me!

regards, Lee

We are thinking about purchasing "Norton AntiVirus™ Corporate
Edition
7.6". Is there anybody using it? Does it slow down the network or
Vantage?

We use it and it works great. I do a scheduled scan of PC's daily at 12:30pm (lunch hour) and
that is the only time I experience any type of performance hit. The scan only takes a couple of
minutes and happens in the background. I use this as well as the Outlook e-mail security patch
and thus far it has been an effective virus protection strategy. Low/No maintenance other than
adding clients and a weekly preview the logs to be sure nothing crazy is happening and to ensure
definition updates continue to happen. I would recommend it.

We are using it here at ASPI. Stephen, the other half of the IT staff here
set it up. It's great! We download and push out virus updates every night.
After the Nimda virus hit a while back this was the solution decided on. It
will slow down Vantage with the default configuration. We lived with this
for a while, then Stephen set the clients up not to scan network drives and
also told it not to scan ".r" files or "vtg" files. After that our Vantage
login times went from 1.5 minutes to about 20 seconds. The great thing is
all the clients are managed from a server. When changes are made you don't
have to walk around everywhere. Also, Windows NT and 2000 clients will
install remotely from the server.

I would recommend the Symantec product.
