You need to go to your domain server and delete the account for "ADMIN"
This is found under Administrative tools and Server Manager. When you join
a domain an account is created for your computer. When changing system
names the old account remains. You have to go in from time to time and
clean out the junk. The admin server is probably keying to the mac number
of your network card.

Subject: [Vantage] NT Machine Name
I have a peculiar question
I have two Windows NT 4 servers
My perosnal machine name was admin
I have since wiped the hard drive and given the machine to another user
I called it OLDIBM
Now my new Dell I got, I had to call it ADMIN2 because it says that
ADMIN already exsists
I cannot find any record of it in the domain or the server manager
listing
Nothing
How can I remove this name from my domain?
Suggestions?
Thanks
