Call up Epicor and have them send you the ODBCFix.r. It has instructions on
how to run this. This is caused by the index descriptions being longer than
the ODBC driver likes them to be. You have to make sure that everyone is
out of Vantage and it runs in about 30 seconds.

I am working on building a Crystal Report which we can run to inform our
customers of daily shipments and the associated tracking numbers. I am
getting an error message after I add the shipdtl table which says:

ODBC error: [MERANT][ODBC PROGRESSdriver][PROGRESS]Column_Desc in table
PUB.-Index has exceeded it max length or precision.

I thought I remembered someone mentioning this but could not find anything
in the archives.

There is a fix you can download from the Epicor Web site. Its part of the
ODBCFIX.zip file. You extract the file and run it as a .vtg. It then
truncates the field descriptions so that you don't have that problem.
