This is an Access problem which requires a registry entry to fix, start regedit and goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+ Software
+ ODBC
+ODBC.ini

Select the Data Source that you are using.
Right mouse click and select New, String Value (the name is case sensitive) Call it WorkArounds2.
Then select the WorkArounds2 and select Modify, give this a Value of 40960.

That will create the String Value of WorkArounds2=40960 Then attempt the link to the table.

Another way to deal with this is to manually create the cpnncetion string in Access.
ODBC;DSN=vntg8; HOST=Vantage8; PORT=8350; DB=mfgsys; UID=SYSPROGRESS; PWD=sysprogress

I get this error message any time that I tried to get external data in Access from my Vantage database. I have no problem using the ODBC connection with Excel. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks,
