ODBC: Microsoft Access

I notice a change in the table names with the new ODBC driver. They all
begin with PUB... or maybe I'm not using it properly.

Subject: [Vantage] ODBC: Microsoft Access

Good morning.

I just recently installed Version 5.0 from Version 4.0 and have run into
a problem with my reports that I created in Microsoft Access. Since my
reports where using the ODBC for Version 4.0 do I need to start from
scratch and create these reports with the new ODBC driver for Version
5.0?

Any suggestions or help would be very appreciative.

Thank you,

It was over a year ago, but when I went from 3.0 to 4.0, I did not have to
re-create all of my access reports. However, I did have to do a link update
in Access. Unfortunately, it was so long ago that I don't remember what it
was and I did not write it down. I believe I found it the first time be
searching Access's help and looking at menu options, however. Also, I did
have to so some minor tweaking to my reports do to database changes.
Its been a while ago so I don't exactly remember what I had to do,
but we did face the same problem when going from 4 to 5. The ODBC
driver they give you with 5 is very different from the old drivers.
I was told by support to revert back to an older driver and I think
everything worked fine after I did that. I am using the Merant 3.6
Driver and I used ODBC quite a bit with good success.

What you need to do is in Access go to Tools, Addins, Linked Table Manager,
Select all, then Ok. This will re-establish the link to the Vanatage tables.
This will need to be done for each report and each time there is a Vantage
upgrade the your reports should run fine. You would also have to look at
any changes within the table and the fields you are using. Hope this helps.
