Jonathan,
You might want to consider just using a date formula in Crystal for now.
That would give you the date printed.
I would also agree that at 4.x and Progress 9.0b, now is not the time to
attempt ODBC, especially do to the fact that you are looking at getting up
to current where this process is much easier.
Good luck,

Subject: [Vantage] ODBC or SQL connect to Progress 9.0b
I have recently started work as an IT support guy and we use Vantage
4 (Progress 9.0b).
I am currently trying to modify a goods received label in Crystal
Reports to include the received date. This date seems to be in a
different table to the ones referred to in RcvLabel.rpt and I was
wondering how to get hold of this other data.
In terms of SQL and ODBC drivers etc I am a complete novice so any
information would be helpful.
Do I need to set up some sort of ODBC on the server (NT4sp6a) before
a client computer can connect to the database.
I understand that we have a pretty old version of Vantage and
Progress but are currently in the process of upgrading our server in
order to move to a newer version of Vantage. If its easier to resolve
this problem in more recent versions then I might hold off until we
get the new Vantage.
Cheers
