Odd Win98 Behavior after Patch .350 Install

Erik:

You wouldn't by any chance have the both progress 8 and 9 clients loaded on
the workstations, do you. If so, I suggest you uninstall the version 8 and
see what happens.

Sorry Erik. IE 5.5 was just a guess. I've never seen that problem,
although we are on 5.1 patch .125. We have mostly Win98 workstations. Maybe
check with Epicor to see if there is a known issue with that patch.

Troy,

All of our workstations are running at least IE5.5 and some are
running 6.0. I ran FileMon during the lockup and OLE32.dll is the
last file accessed. I'm not sure if it is getting stuck there or not.
I've tried replacing the file with older versions and the Win98
install original, but it did not work any better. Any other ideas???

Thanks,

Erik

Since patch .350 has been applied to Vantage 5.0 on our system, we
have been experiencing a couple problems with Win98. If Vantage is
open on a workstation and we want to open the Printers Folder, it
will not open up until the Vantage session has been closed. If
Vantage is minimized and we try to open the Printer's Folder, Vantage
can only be brought back up by hitting ALT+TAB, a mouse clik will not
work.

We are running 3.0 Live and testing 5.0. The problem only occurs on
systems where both 3.0 and 5.0 clients are installed. It occurs in
both 3.0 and 5.0 on these workstations since patch .350 was applied
to Vantage 5.0. The datbases are on seperate servers and seperate
mapped drives. We are using networked HP laser printers and some
local printers. Any ideas as that what's going on here?

Thanks!

Try upgrading to Internet Explorer 5.5 on one of the Win98 workstations and see what happens.
