Is that their 110volt network piggy back stuff?
Will I have to secure my 110volt access on my front porch for weed eating
and christmas lites to keep out hackers?

Does anyone have any experience with "NetGear HomePlug Ethernet Bridge" ?

Just saw a brief news article on this.

For home networking this should would be easier than a wireless network if
it works.

I was looking at it once and read some articles stating that performance is about 1/4 of claimed speeds. I was also afraid (despite claims contrary) of interference from other electrical devices. Seeing the lights dim from a 12 amp vacuum cleaner had me a little worried. Finally, the number one route for lightning into the average house is via electrical line and the HomePlug devices weren't supposed to be connected via surge protector. So this would be a really good route directly to the NIC and motherboard. At least with power spikes I have the hope that the power supply will sacrifice itself and spare the expensive stuff. I ended up running Cat-5 through the grounded cold air return ducts and have full 100Mb LAN speed.

I use a netgear switch, my net cards are either built into the MB or are
standard 3 coms. I tried to help hubbies uncle set up nics using the
telephone lines for connection. What a mess. I'll stick with cat 5 or
optical.
