Thanks for the information, Lydia. I wondered if you could give me
more detail about what to do when you open Outlook and where exactly
you make the changes.

Here is an interesting one for you Outlook experts to consider.

I have a user who is trying to access his email on two computers. He
should be able to open Outlook and see the same email on the second
computer as he does on the first. Unfortunately, he only seems to
see internal email on the second computer.

I have even logged on to the second computer as the administrator and
have still been unable to access the externally sent email for this
person.

Also, this person has taken over the work of another person until he
can be replaced and needs to be able to see both his email and the
prior employee's email. You can log on as the network administrator
and see the emails of other employees by choosing the profile desired
but I don't want to give this person the system password. I did go
into the Exchange Administrator and added the user in the Permissions
tab but that still doesn't allow the prior employee to open Outlook
and then select the other employee's profile.

I would appreciate any help on this.

I don't have Exchange running here. But as to the second point, I
would just add the replaced person's email account to the "double-
duty" employee.
In Outlook:
Tools-> Accounts -> 'Mail' Tab
ADD button and match the appropiate fields from the terminated
employee.
Then both the mailboxes will be checked.

The obvious thing to look for on the second computer is that the
configuration settings are the same as on the first.

You can set up another personal folder pointing to the prior employee's .pst
file in the current employee's configuration.

Have you tried in Outlook:
File|Open|Other Users Folder
You may also want to change the primary NT account for the mailbox to the
user that needs it.

Brent:

I can answer part of this:

Also, this person has taken over the work of another person until he
can be replaced and needs to be able to see both his email and the
prior employee's email.

Go into the exchange administrator, choose Recipients. Choose the name of
the person who is being replaced or gone (Person B). On the Delivery
Options tab, toward the bottom is an alternate recipient box. Click it, add
the name of Person A (the one who will read this e-mail in the absence of
Person B). Then, when "A" opens outlook, there will be two mailboxes
available (View folders, then make a shortcut for Person B's folder).
Badah-bing!

The first problem I have to think about.

Brent I am not certain about the first question you might want to go onto
Microsoft's site and look up Roaming profiles.. The second issue I would go
into receiptants in Exchange admin, select the old employee, select delivery
options, select alternate address and but the replacement employee name in
the box. You should also be able to change permissions of the old employees
mailbox to allow the new employee access. You will also need to configure the
clients local outlook settings, select the following: tools, services,
Exchange server, properties, advance, add mailbox, There might be some legal
issue involved with doing this.
