On running MRP process, Not getting PO Suggestion for purchase part

Hello guys, I need your constancy. Thank you in advance.
I set up fields as pictures:

  • Manufacturing Part:

  • Purchasing part:

    I have a SO for the manufacturing part.
    After running MRP process for manufacturing part, I don’t understand why PO suggestion didn’t suggest for material part (purchased part).
    Which fields I should add or remove? Any suggestion? What should I do?

A sales order is only going to make a suggestion for a component.

A manufactured part needs a job which mrp can make either firm or unfirm and then that job’s material will have suggestions.

Yep, in Time Phase, both A manufactured part and material one, I saw Job which MRP suggest, but when I check PO suggestion function to buy materials for Job MRP. It haven’t.

I am a bit confused and I am no MRP expert either. But your Purchased part does not have the BTO flag checked. I would have thought that for PO suggestions to be made the On hand qty-demand would have to be less than the (in your case) the min On-Hand/Safety stock.

I am responding to this so I too can be schooled in the dark art that is MRP.

In your pictures - not seeing all the key fields.
First thing to check is the Sales Order.

Sales Order Release

  • ShipBy Date required
  • Firm Order = True

Your manufactured part is set as Buy to Order.
If it is - then it would drive a PO suggestion for the mfg part.

Setup parts as follows
Manufactured Part

  • Site settings

    • Non-Stock = True (drives make to order)
    • Buy to Order = False (if you want to make the part)
    • Qty Bearing = True
    • Process MRP = True

  • Revision Setting

    • Approved Revision
    • Purchase part on the BOM

Purchased part

  • Site settings
    • Qty Bearing=True
