Good afternoon,
Does anyone have any experience with using electronic boards in association with operations meetings to make notes, provide dates, etc. We currently have a dry erase board and we could really use some feedback on possible better solutions from other users.
(We struggle with using Epicor scheduling because many of our parts are make to stock and we do not have any person who would be considered a master scheduler. )
On our board in summary, we have “high visibility jobs” and make notes about the required workflow of parts and bottlenecks in regards to those. For example, Mr. Customer / sales order number / latest planned shipping date / quantity of pumps, category of order (commercial, government, etc) and under that a summary w dates of each part: Stator assembly 10/31, Stator band assembly 11/15, Receive rotor parts 10/31, Rotor assembly 11/15, Receive pump casing casting 11/7, Pump casing machine 11/21, and so on. Then they note on this board done, received, etc., QA inspection reqs sometimes, etc.
We do have receipts from jobs and POs done timely in Epicor. What we don’t have is the jobs getting rescheduled out in real time. I’m not necessarily trying to fix that today, but am really looking for what tools others are using in operations meetings to note status and need for updates. We use Multilevel pegging data to expose where we have some problems but we have not used it yet to the extent we probably could.
Thanks for your input,
Nancy
