Ordetl Product Group vs JobHed Product Group

Hi Bruce,

The problem that Stephen describes is only important if you wish to
categorize your "beans". If you wish to match the cost of growing certain
types of beans (manufacturing jobs) with the revenues derived from the sales
of the same type of beans (sales orders), then you will want your bean
categories (groups) to match.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Stephen,

I'm still pretty new to Vantage.
In fact we're still a month or two away from going live.
So, there's a tom I don't know.
I think I understand what you are describing but I'm not sure what the
impact would be.
Can you give an example of the problem you are running into because
these groups are not synced?

Thanks,
Bruce

Subject: [Vantage] Ordetl Product Group vs JobHed Product Group

We've discovered that Vantage doesn't synchronize the Ordetl product
group
and the JobHed product group. We became aware of this issue when
running
separate reports that link differently to get the product code
description.
You can change the product group in the order line but that doesn't flow
down to the job header product group. I've called Vantage on this and
I'm
waiting on their response.

Easy way to check to see if this problem impacts your database is to
write a
report that compares the two values and lists the order lines where the
product group in ordetl doesn't match the product group in JobHed. We
ran
this report and were surprised to have 1,100 records that didn't match.

I'd be interested to see how widespread this problem is.

Thanks,

Steve
