In 2024.2, we are getting warnings of orphan components in our Job Entry and Job Tracker Menus. This of course didn’t happen in 2024.1. I go to application studio to find these orphan components, but nothing shows up under the problems, and I cannot find the orphan components at all when I manually search through all the sections.
The worst part about this is that when I preview in application studio, there is no warning of orphan components. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Why would this only happen in this newest version? Is there a way to just have the application ignore the orphan component warning so this doesn’t constantly show up for my users?
I looked up that help article, and it was not very helpful to me. The article shows the section showing where orphan components are, but that part does not show up for me.
I do have 2 custom layers in job entry, but neither one of them shows any orphan components. I made sure to check the base layer too, and that had no orphan components either.
It looks like it is still open. The status is ‘In Release Planning’ and has a note “Issue has been prioritized and is available for engineering. Will be picked up based on priority and as capacity allows.” I’ve been able to click around the error. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Yep it looks like the issue came back up again for us at least. Hopefully they fix this problem because it is really annoying.
EDIT: I think I found a workaround. All I did was just save and commit the same exact layer, then published the unedited layer. This seemed to have solved the issue of the orphan component warning coming up.
