OT - Access

Processor = x86 Family Model 8 Stepping 10 GenuineIntel~864 Mhz

The problems I have are with any Access db on the network and they
crop up when I am inside like a code window or I'm
editing/changing/doing stuff/saving whatever.
When I hit the Save button...%Z*&#@^$!@*#& (that's the sound of my
machine crashing)
When I open it as a user on another workstation and simply enter data
and save, I have no problems....Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Busy day with many questions
New Optiplex 270 workstations XP1. problems, problems. I read many
positings on Dell's site with regard to the intel integrated nic. So
I have swapped the card to an external 3com Nic. Now when working in
Office 2000 SP 3 on Access the program continually hangs. Sometime
it will open the report or run a query that I am requesting but
others it stops and errors out or shuts down all together. Does
anyone have any ideas as to what is happening here? Furthermore, I
have Optiplex GX240 machines with same software and configurations
and they are not having any issues. What is going on?
Boy! Would I love to know the answer to THAT one!
I have a new motherboard (GA-6VEM Series)(not Dell at all) with an
intigrated NIC also and am also running Office 2000 SP3 on W2K SP4.
Whenever I open an Access db on the network, my processor almost
immediatly goes to 100% and I have to End Task. I have had to copy
the db to my workstation to do any work and then move it back.
Would love to figure out how to exorcise the demons that have
possessed my box.
You could try a post to the Microsoft MSDN Access user group, but I
doubt that it's Access.
