I did the same on my own PC and agree with Todd, seeing 90% plus accuracy in
just 1 day. Very nice product.

Downloaded the utility and installed it on a pc that has outlook. Added all
of the major mailboxes in the company that have been bombarded with Spam and
configured the utility to watch them all. ( This way I don't have to
install it on every PC or explain to a bunch of end users how to configure
and train it ... )

98% accuracy within 24 hrs with a few tweaks.

I get 10 to 50 per day! I am proud to say that I don't suffer from ANY of
the afflictions that these people seem to think I have.

I accidentally deleted an important email recently in my zest to clear out
the Spam (which I would like to begin calling CRAP - I think Spam is
insulting to the meat product).

I have had pretty good success with Open Relay Filter (ORF) on the server (about $100) from Vamsoft. It checks a number of blacklists for IP addresses and also does some reverse DNS lookups. It filters out about 50% of all email hitting our Exchange server and logs rejected messages. It also allows tailoring the rejection messages.

On top of this on my desktop I use 'iHateSpam' from Sunbelt software - a $19 cheapy I picked up at CompUSA. It has pretty good filtering and its own ememies list. Finally I use tons of Outlook wizard rules.

I'll never know exactly how many messages to "me" ORF killed but of the 100 or so daily that get by it 'iHateSpam and the wizard rules kill all but 5-10 of the rest. Our average user protected by ORF alone might see 1-2 per day get through. Because of all my "registrations" at various support and product sites I'm a spam magnet so 5-10 a day is tolerable. One thing I've learned is to not preview probable spam that can run HTML and report being viewed. If I can I drag to an inbox sub-folder with preview pane turned off (usually by multiple ctrl-C select along with a "good" message") and delete it from there, un-read.

I installed SpamBayes a month ago and absolutely love it! After the program "learned" what I considered SPAM vs. HAM I rarely have to deal with SPAM. Maybe one on average gets through a day.

And since installing this product my self confidence has soared! No more daily reminders of my apparent 'inadequacies'.

To tell you the truth, personally I'm not too fond of the new Microsoft
Office 2003; HOWEVER, Outlook 2003 has spam email filtering built into it
now ... if you're upgrading in the near future. You may want to consider
that, instead of purchasing a third party spam program.

I used to get 400 emails a day, now I receive about 20. Crazy huh, and that
was the product installed right out the box, no configuration or "adding
people to my spam list". ... Life without spam? I feel like we just
accomplished world peace or something, my job isn't as annoying any longer.
