I have a barcoded tag for out Lots. On some computers when I scan the first 1 sometimes takes as an ! and sometimes a 1.
Ex. R1001875-1 will come up R!001875-1 a couple times and then scan correct a couple. I have never seen this one before, any ideas.
Is it the scanner or the Crystal Reports tag?

For troubleshooting, I suggest temporarily changing the font to Arial or
something normal on that barcode text field within Crystal Reports to
see the literal output of the barcode.

However, my initial guess is that it's your hardware. If you take that
tag and use another barcode scanner, does it yield the same result? Is
this evident with every barcode scanner on your shop floor?

What type of scanners? USB tethered or are you using wireless handheld
scanners?

They are new. We were using HHP Keyboard/Wedge but at the rate the guys bust them we went to some cheapo Unitech USB scanners. The text is printed below the tag and is correct. I am putting a ticket in to the vendor since on my PC it works fine but then from my PC I start doing things on our TServer & the problem comes back.

Sounds like a firmware issue.

They are new. We were using HHP Keyboard/Wedge but at the rate the guys
bust them we went to some cheapo Unitech USB scanners. The text is
printed below the tag and is correct. I am putting a ticket in to the
vendor since on my PC it works fine but then from my PC I start doing
things on our TServer & the problem comes back.
