Jeremy, Is Terminal Services for the Web a Citrix product or part of W2K ?
All who responded,
I suspect most of the "dial-in" will be from metro area hotels or homes and
a fair number from cable modem connections at home. More of the sales
people are staying at places with $9.95/day fast Internet connecitons in
hotel room. If I can have this end on our T1 (eliminate that dial-line) and
get a good connection on the remote end most of the time then I think our
people will be happy as long as the speed is OK on a good dial-up
connection.
Before I give up entirely on pcAnywhere I still need to try it with an
"outside" IP address on the DMZ side of our firewall. If we go with Citrix
it won't be until late summer after we do Vantage 4 to 5.1 upgrade and Win2K
upgrades on servers. I'm just trying to decide if investigation of Citrix
remore access is worth my time. Sounds like it is. Thanks everyone.

I normally connect to my AOL dial up account and then access T.S. from
there.
Works well. Its not something I would want to work on all the time but its
been very usable.
Thanks

Subject: [Vantage] [OT] Citrix MetaFrame and Nfuse gateway
I am starting to explore using Citrix MetaFrame and their gateway (VPN type)
method to allow access to Vantage and Outlook. I have tried RAS and
pcAnywhere without success due to our really bad phone lines (won't connect
over 14.4 so WAY too slow). I want to try inward access via our T1. I have
tried VPN from at home but it is too complicated. Citrix sounds on paper
like it will perform OK.
Anyone using Citrix from home, hotel, etc... to dial an ISP and then access
their Vantage system or Outlook/Exchange? On days like today when some
people haven't made it in (due to the snow) it would be really handy if it
works.
Thanks,
