Darren,
We used both small parts counting scales and larger scales attached to our pallet wrappers at the last place I worked.
For small parts counting scales Toledo is the best in my opinion. Very user friendly and durable. I don't think you will be able to use a 50# scale for your .001# parts. We had parts as small as 1.5g and could not use the same 50# Toledo scales we used for everything else. Ended up getting a 2#/50# dual scale model from Detecto. Big mistake - very user UNFRIENDLY and always out of calibration. We should have just gotten a smaller Toledo scale and dedicated it to those parts.
We also had two pallet wrappers with weigh scales for the shipping area. Pallet wrappers were from Lantech. I think the scales were too - or maybe it just comes with an interface and you can add your own scale. Very sweet. Saved a lot of time and wear and tear on our shipping crew.

Hey everyone,
I hate to bother you but looking for experiences with different brands of
counting scales and load cells. We need to be able to weigh everything from
small parts (.001) to pallets up to 5000#. I would imagine a counting scale
with 50# capacity paired with a 4' X 4' platform with 5000# capacity. Any
other ideas?
Thanks,
