Try this...

IF {Part.TypeCode} = "P"
THEN Right({Part.PartNum},Length({Part.PartNum})-4)
ELSE {Part.PartNum}

Crystal gurus....

I am guessing/hoping that a string field can be "trimmed" when displaying.
All I want is:

IF {Part.TypeCode} = "P"
THEN
({Part.PartNum} start displaying at the 5 character)
ELSE
{Part.PartNum}
If it helps the 4th character is a hyphen.

Thanks for any help you all can give.

David,
If you created a formula like this:

IF {Part.TypeCode} = "P"
THEN Left({Part.PartNum},5)
ELSE {Part.PartNum}

Thanks Troy,

This formula would only give me the first five characters, right? To be a
little clearer, I'm looking for everything after the fourth character, (5th
and on).

Ex. Part.PartNum = ABC-123456789
Display only = 123456789
