Todd -
I bought a CablesToGo "USB2.0 to IDE or SATA Drive Adapter" model
#30504. Here's a link:

5887
Looks like the list price at EnPointe is $25 - since EnPointe is my
regular VAR, I'm sure I paid less than $25, so contact your favorite VAR
and see if they carry it.
I love this device. Works with laptop drives, desktop drives, SATA
drives, and I was even able to take an IDE CD-R/W drive from an old
desktop and connect it to another computer via USB and still burn disks
with it! This thing has saved the day many times over, but $90 for a
device like this would be ridiculously high.

Subject: [Vantage] [OT] IDE/ATA Disk to USB Adapter
Hardware question for the techies....I'm tired of trying to hook hard
drives from dead PCs into another PC to recover data. I know there are
adapters and cables that can turn an old drive into a big (size wise)
USB drive. Anyone have any favorites to recommend? I am looking at one
form Cables to Go for about $90. The convenience would be well worth the
cost but if there is something as good but less I would like to look at
it too.
Thanks,
Todd Caughey
