Lois / Jim,
I'm pretty sure Jim's right. You either have a mapped drive in
Explorer, or you're running a batch file in the background that has
mapped that drive using the "net use" command. That very thing happened
to me yesterday.

I forget why it occurs but you can use the ip address of the device
instead of the name and it will work. I believe it happens when you are
mapped to that drive twice or something like that. Check to see if there
are logon scripts or something else that map that drive already.

Subject: [Vantage] OT: local device name is already in use
W2K workstation saving files up to Nas device on network continually
gets error message...
Error occurred while reconnecting to H:\\nas\files
Microsoft Windows Network: local device name is already in use This
connection has not been restored.
Why is that occurring? How do I correct that?
