Which is also the reason we went with someone local, because they seem
to really want the business and actually want to satisfy us. The local
in Chicago is Equivoice and even though we did have some issues, they
resolved them quickly.
I feel the smaller the company the more they would go beyond what others
would do to keep our business. And in this day and age I would rather
support a small company.

I really liked those guys especially Doug Robinson. They were CP Telecom
up
until Aug 1st. We ended up not moving to them only because of a decision
from above my pay grade, damn the ROI. Our current provider then became
very proactive in retaining our business.

red flag in my book. Actually I am more interested in a local ILEC/CLEC
called Enventis (division of Hickory Tech) whose costs is even lower and
has
local HQ. Glassdoor.com comments for CBeyond was very revealing about
their
sales people.

I had the same experience with them and when they started being pushy I
said no. What pissed me off even more was when they went beyond me to
the owner. I'm lucky enough that the owner doesn't respond to vendors
(duh, he is the owner) and trusted me enough to hear my side of what
happened and my research to also say no. Too me when one is that pushy
and obnoxious, I know I won't work well with them. The less I am
frustrated the better for all around me!
Personally, I feel you should always go with your instincts! :)

Do any of you have direct experience with CBeyond as a phone and
Internet services provider? On paper they look pretty good for both
services and cost but I am reading a LOT of web complaints. And their
really pushy sales people give me a really creepy feeling. I know they
are only in a few markets around the country but perhaps someone in one
of then has tried them.
