OT: Sysprep on Dell PCs - Product Key Question

Hello,

I have been working with Sysprep so that I can create a disk image.

As I was doing this, I ran into some thing weird.

I finished setting up the reference PC and ran Sysprep and did a reseal.

After the reference PC rebooted, it went into the Windows setup as
predicted but it never prompted me for a product key.

After the setup was finished I started to investigate when it didn't
prompt me for a key.

I found a program that shows the product key and it turns out that the
product key is not the same key as the one on the chassis.

I went around to 2 other Dell PCs and these all showed the same key.

I then went to an IBM PC, just to make sure that the program wasn't
screwy, and got a different key this time.

So then I began to wonder if Dell uses an OEM key for all of their PCs
and therefore there will not be a need to enter the key on the chassis
after running sysprep.

Does anyone have any input on this subject to shed some light?

Thanks,

Joe Rojas
