Mitchell,
Don't know if what you're doing will work or not. Personal opinion - Your
PDC / Vantage Server / TS server should be 3 separate boxes if at all
possible.
Convert your "Per Server" CALS to "Per Seat" CALS and it doesn't make any
difference how many servers you have.
Using separate boxes for each major service and 1 box for everything else
gives you much more control over each machine. You can scratch and reload
the Vantage server without having to worry about keeping your PDC or email
servers online. I'm not suggesting 50 servers just 3-5.
We use:
* 1 box = PDC / WINS / DHCP / Print-Server / General file server for user
files
* 1 box = Vantage / Abra / etc
* 1 box = Exchange server
* 1 box = MS-Host Integration server ( links pc's to our AS/400 )
* 1 box = IS patches, fixes, etc ( very old box )
-2- of the servers have tape drives which are used to backup the other 3 as
needed.
Just a thought ....

Subject: [Vantage] OT: Terminal Services Setup
Not knowing any better I installed Terminal Services and the additional TS
CALS on the Vantage server which is also the PDC. Having read more about
TS, this seems to have been a bad decision on my part. My admin account
works but user logins fail. I have changed things due to feedback from the
group (thank you all) and I just get different error messages. The current
crop of errors involve an invalid path. I'm now reading an article about
setting up TS user directories.
My question is should I just start over? Will it work in this configuration
or am I running down a dead end? My other W2k server only has a 5 user CAL
for the OS. If I switch TS to this machine will this be a problem?
