You can also down load Red Hat from www.redhat.com - no charge. I
suspect that the $159 is for installing and configuring, and perhaps
some hand holding afterwards. I use Red Hat because that happen to be
what my friendly local computer store had on the shelf when I was
getting into Linux a few years ago, and have stuck with it since (It is
also a Progress supported distribution). Stable, reliable, fairly simple
to configure and instal, good support for most devices. If you are not
conversant with Linux, join you local users group, see what most of them
are using, and go with that. Then when you need help, chances are one of
them will already have solved the problem, and will be able to walk you
through it.
