If you turn Auto on you will get SP2 unless you use the MS utility that
prevents it.
And that is only good for a few more weeks.
If you use Active Directory you can turn off / on updating by using
profiles.

I would use the custom update feature instead of the Express Install.
It gives you more control over what is installed and you can install updates
other then SP2.
I have been doing that today myself.

Also check out HFNetChkPro, very helpful for updating.
There are other good programs for mass updating as well.

When XP-SP2 came out, I turned off all of the automatic updates on
our user workstations until I could see how things would turn out.
Currently, when I setup a new XP(pro) workstation, and I go to MS
site to update windows, it now gives you the option of an 'Express

want to update to SP2 quite yet:

1) Is the 'Express Install' all I really need to use?

new 'Express' files, or all, or SP2?

How do you guys do yours?

I have another question. Sometimes when I have a question for the
group, I will try to 'search archive' first, but have little to no
luck unless it has been posted very recently. Any suggestions on
how to search better?
