Pack IDs, Master Packs, POs, BOLs

We recently started using Master Packs.

A wrinkle that has come up as a result is that I can’t seem to figure out how to determine what Master Pack a specific Pack ID is associated with.

Specifically, our customer service people need to find the tracking/pro # for a specific order. Most of the time all they get from the customer is a PO.

With a PO, we can get our SO #, the Pack ID(s) for that SO, etc. There now seems to be no link between an individual Pack ID and the BOL it was a part of. The BOL now seems to be associated with the Master Pack.

What I can’t find is a method to search for a pack Id and return what master pack it is in.

Before I go ahead and create some custom thing I want to make sure I’m not missing something.

I don’t think there’s a OTB tracker… but perhaps a published BAQ against MasterPackDtl would be easy to set up?

Yeah it should be simple enough to create something, I just didn’t want to if it wasn’t necessary.

Seems like find master pack number by pack id would be built in somewhere.

OO OOo… Customer Shipment Entry landing page… Master Pack Number is available in Personalize Columns!

Would that work for you?

Unfortunately, not available on the Sales Order > Activity > Shipments grid

I’m on 10.2.4 maybe they added it after that? I definitely looked at the columns on the grids and didn’t see it, unless they are calling it something unexpected.

ah, crap… didn’t notice your version, my bad. I suppose you could create a BAQ search users could use on Shipment Entry that could include MasterPack as a column? But yeah… looks like you’re probably gonna have to do SOMETHING custom.

MAsterpackDtl has dtlpacknum field and that’s the pack num from ship head
