Parent / child data tree

We are wanting to set up a parent / child hierarchy that will be displayed on the part entry page. If a user select something from level 1 they are given the level 2 options for that parent option chosen, then given the level 3 options for the level 2 option chosen. See an example below.

An example would be:

  • level 1 Mechanical Components
    • Level 2 Compressors
      • Level 3 Covers
      • Level 3 Rail
    • Level 2 Furnace
      • Level 3 Assembly
      • Level 3 Component

Has anyone done something like this? I’m thinking UD table(s).

Do you mean like a part finder? Or options that go with the part record you are on in part entry?

Yes, multiple drop down selections.

These series of drop downs will be options on the part record.
