Part Families Blank Title 114245

Hi John,

I'm not a C# programmer, but I have several C# developers that work for me
but they are not familiar with Epicor. Would it be possible for you to
give me a little guidance so that I can run it by my developers.

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks
Flynt

Our Part numbering scheme uses the form XXX-XXXX-FFF where XXX-XXXX is the "family" part no. and FFF is a member of the family. In Epicor 9.05.700c, each member of the family is treated as a separate part.

The problem for is that when we create a new revision, we would like to roll the revision on the entire family of parts to the same letter.

Anyone out there done that, knows how to do it, or have a suggestion as to how to approach it?

Thanks

I'm not sure there is an easy way to do that without a bit of custom code.
That said, if you're into that kind of thing it isn't to hard to check out
a part, create a revision and check it back in programmatically.

If you're handy with c# and this sounds viable, let us know and we'll try
to offer some more detail for you.

Good Day Flint:

I am not sure what you want.
If you have parts:
1. ABC-1234-aaaa
2. ABC-1234-bbbb
3. ABC-1234-cccc
4. DEF-1234-aaaa
5. DEF-1234-bbbb
6. DEF-1234-cccc

And revise ABC-1234-bbbb to rev N, which do you want to be
cahnged to Rev N

1, 2, and 3 that means ABC-1234-aaaa Rev N is same as
ABC-1234-aaaa rev M?
could be the
same as Rev a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,

Or 2 and 5

That is, the drawing, and the physical part are not changed?
Why?
Are they all assemblies of each other?
