Hi All,
I'm having an issue when receiving parts to inventory. We are using auto-receipt to inventory through time and expense entry. Using the exact same numbers each time, it seems like the burden, labor and unit cost are creeping up in cost with each transaction. I would expect that the values would be the same each time??
We are running 905.702a.
Any help would appreciated,
Thanks
Curtis
What is the costing method on the part? If it is AVG, it could change upward as more cost is added in the later receipts.

I’m not sure if I quite understand but you can see what costs are being applied to the job either in job tracker, the Production Detail Report, or you can run an Inventory/WIP Reconciliation Report for the job(s) in question. You can see if indeed the exact same costs are going into the jobs.

Yes, the part is AVG. I would expect the average cost of the part to change. Would this also then change the transaction cost? I was thinking that it was the transaction that changed the average, not the average that would change the transaction, if that makes sense.

Another thought just occurred to me. When you say that you are using the “exact same numbers†do you mean exact same quantities being put into stock also? If you have setup hours going into any operations on the job, they are applied only once per operation regardless of the quantities. If you are completing a smaller quantity, those hours would be amortized over fewer parts thus increasing the cost per part. This would come into play especially if you were back flushing your labor and overhead.
