We have rare scenarios when a Job is created and some of the operations could be completed in the plant where the job was created. Then there are other operations where it has to be send to another plant for doing specific operations and then returned backed to us. What is the best method to go about this process? Do we have to receive the top level incomplete job into stock and then transfer to other plant?
How do you get the part into the other plant? Don’t you need to do some sort of transfer which means the top level part has to be received to stock first and transferred to the other plant, correct?
Thank you for your quick response. So the transfer order that is being created, is it from the job itself (shipped directly from the job)? Because we don’t have the part in stock, it’s still in WIP on this job (top level part).
My understanding of how it is supposed to work, and I never got a chance to fully test it all the way through, so make sure you test.
A transfer order will be raised automatically for a site to site shipment in WIP. I believe you need the shipper to ship it out, but there should be a pack slip already in the transfer order screen.
Mock it up in your test environment and see what happens.
