Yes, there is a limited search function available when searching by
description while looking for parts, jobs, sales orders, quotes,
etc. However, in various other database systems I have used you can
also search for characters within a word such as typing '*put* when
looking for computer. You can not do this in Vantage. Your choices
are to type 'computer' or 'comp*'. I find their search functionality
not very good.
I have been able to create my own custom dashboards with better
search-by-description functionality by applying customization on my
search field and setting the DASHBOARD CONDITION as MATCHES.
I created an enhancement request to have Epicor apply similar
technology to the search-by-description fields for all searches in
the software. You are invited to pile on to enhancement request
