I don’t know how many times I’ve thought that an EAC action (like Config App Server) has frozen because I am presented with

While the window that says it has completed, is actually behind another …

To clarify …

  • Launching Application Server Configuration from EAC, makes a modal dialog box with the Work in Progress message, and launches the Application Server Configuration (ASC) program.
  • The dialog box is modal to the EAC program/snap-in, and the ASC window is given focus (foremost window)
  • After ASC completes, a dialog (modal to ASC) shows, and EAC regains focus

The modal dialog for ASC is now hidden, and the user is presented with the moadl “Work in Progress” dialog from EAC

can we say “Data model regen”… cant’ tell you how many wasted hours there were waiting on a message box that is behind everything else…

Config Edit used to be this way too. It launch “behind” the Windows Explorer window you used to browse to its location…
