PO Suggestion Blank Title 78711

Dustin,

Yes and no. If you are running Contract POs (my sympathies!) or KanBan POs, the SugPODtl table will store the PONUM (to at least add a new line AND release to) and also possibly the POLine (to add a new release to if an appropriate line already exists).

Other than that, I don't think it there is a way to relate already acted on BUY suggestions to the original SugPODtl.SugNum... I've never actually poked in to confirm but I wouldn't be surprised if the Buyers WB BO method associated with mass BUY actions ends up deleting the SugPODtl record.

It wouldn't do much good to keep them as Generate new PO Suggestions and/or MRP wipes out the file anyway and rebuilds during a full regen... Net change gives only slightly different results in that it simply appends the existing records, modifies existing records if conditions changed slightly - as in a Req'd Date or Qty -  & likely deletes acted upon records.

On progress db I don't see any 'ignore suggestion' boolean field in the table (akin to MRP change suggestions for Fab parts when a planner once to ignore the suggestion for a while - at least until the next regen: That would provide a vehicle for retaining the SugPODtl record but hiding from user view once BUY acted upon - and might then contain the resulting PONUM and possibly POLine created from the suggestion... I really doubt it though.)Â

If someone knows more, I'd love to here about it. (Maybe there are more tables involved than I'm aware of.)

Good question. (Curious as to what your business case/reason is for wanting to know though?)

Rob Brown

Is there a way to tell which PO# has been generated when it is generated through suggestions?

Thanks
