Power Tools ?preview?

Does Epicor do pre-release limited previews?

Now that 2025.1.x is out and we’re approaching 2025.2, curious whether there will be a preview release of Power Tools. Do they do previews?

If so, we’d love to try it out. We’re heavily into DMT and starting to configure APR for a Q4-ish go-live. I’m assuming nothing will change on the existing versions of those tools before 2026, but curious whether there’s any up-side to Power Tools flavor vs existing… :man_shrugging:

They do. You would need to be on the Controlled Release team for 2026.1 to preview this I’d imagine. Your CAM should be able to connect you to the right people to inquire with.

Highly doubtful, since I believe the plan is to make it all browser at some distant point in the future.

Surely, we’re close to a release

I’d be aghast if it was anything other than the existing desktop client in a wig and trenchcoat. Probably with most of the client actually pruned away but you never know. Maybe with a little visual remodel. Except for DMT. Poor DMT never gets a makeover.

Thank insert Deity of choice here, I remember when they launched the “modern” UI and they put it into DMT, that lasted 2 seconds for me, somethings don’t need their UI changed just for the sake of change.

We are part of the CR program and have Power Tools installed on a test server; when you open Power Tools and login you get this:

Service Designer - opens a classic type form:
Advanced Print Routing - opens the classic Report Style Maintenance screen
Epicor Functions Maintenance - opens the classic Epicor Functions Maintenance screen
DMT - opens the familiar DMT environment

The Power Tools are a separate installation, there is no browser interaction that i have found so far - but then it was only installed yesterday1!

I cannot express how much I love that it’s actually dressed up like four raccoons in a trenchcoat.

I was hoping you meant this…
