We are looking for our Operators to be able to do their Pre-Shift Maintenance Inspections (PSIs) inside Epicor on a daily basis to keep our equipment in the best shape that we can. Epicor’s current workflow for this is very clunky and would be extremely time consuming and manual in nature to implement. The steps I’m aware of with for PSI’s are inside Epicor’s Enhanced Quality Module and then building the PSI’s through several screens and ties as follows: Inspection Attribute, Specification, Inspection Plan, Inspection Results Entry. And then the UI at the end is less than ideal.
We’ve thought about entering a static Maintenance Job as a PSI but then you lose the interactiveness from the Operator if they are completing certain steps, what passed or failed, and noting any issues. We talked about the Equipment Inspection Plan that works well for Service Schedule Maintenance (i.e. 250 hr check) but it doesn’t seem to be a good solution for daily use and checklists.
What have others done or used for PSI’s for Maintenance? Are there any other native Epicor tools for this? Have others done a customization in setting up a simple easy to use Maintenance PSI workflow/screens?
