Price Change Visibility

Hello - is there a way to see when a price was updated when you don’t have the Change Log “turned on”? Our IT guy says it eats up a lot of data and bogs things down. I used Epicor at another company and we were using the Change Log and I didn’t think it bogged things down.

The problem that most IT guys have is that someone turns on EVERY field in the change log. I would go back and ask them to provide the list of available fields and then you select the ones you need tracked. That will not cause any problems if it is just a handful of fields.

This is exactly it. Our IT said literally the same thing to us. Turn on what you need but don’t turn on EVERYTHING.

That’s a good idea John! Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Donovan!!

We log a lot of fields across a lot of table. As long as you don’t check every field it’s fine. It’s not even a noticeable amount of data in the grand scheme of things. As @jkane said - just log the fields you’d need to know change. There are a lot of fields in every table you’d probably never need to audit.

Another option to change logs on pricing is to have “Track Book Details” turned on in company config. This populated the Book Details in the Order Lines area. If you change quantity or amount it gets tracked automatically here.

Jenn - where can I see this in company config? I have it open and looked through all the tabs but do not see it.

My bad - the field is “Book Sales Orders” in Kinetic, under Modules > Order. Checking this box populates the BookDtl tables - header, line and release. There is a username and date stamp, so handy when you want to see bookings by date (through a BAQ).

is this also to see when a buyer updates a price in supplier price list?

Hi
No the Book Sales Orders option only logs changes to Sales Order Lines/Releases not PO’s.

As per the previous post you should turn on change logging on the Supplier Price list tables

Thanks Sue
