Primary Bin

Hi all,

I hope I don’t stupid but I have a question regarding primary bin in Part Maintenance.

Is it possible to retain the primary bin for backflush purposes but be able to use the bin location when receving a purchase order for a subcontracted operation.

We use the auto receive feature but I’ve found that we cannot change the bin location at receipt level so a inventory transfer is required to transfer the stock from the backflush bin to the actual bin.

We are looking at the AMM module would this resolve it?

@aarong there a few posts on backflush hierarchy, maybe running through that will help you with a standard function.

When you are receiving a subcontract operation, you aren’t really receiving inventory, but rather cost to the job.

The auto receive on the job operation would be for receiving the assembly into stock automatically when completing a standard operation. The key to that is to make sure all of your costs (Labor and Material) have been applied to the job prior to completing the operation.

The AMM module would not resolve any of the issues you were describing.
