Yup, it is.

That is also the last Freeware version of it. The author updated it to
"PrintKey Pro" lately, and it's now shareware with a small registration fee.

We used to use key F6 to print screen from Vantage 3.0. Recently the
feature quit working without any obvious reason. Do you have an idea how to
restore this function?

Hey way cool, didnt know this existed. We use printscreen 2000 its in the
downloadable files on the Elist. Sorry I cant help with the F6 key.

Hah... the 3.0 F6 print screen rarely works, and when it does, it is lousy
anyway! the freeware PrintKey 3.x or 2000 works much better.

Vantage 4.0 seems to have fixed the F6. But PrintKey still works
better. One seemingly odd feature in 4.0: It has a "print preview" for
the snapshot of the screen that you're about to print. Uuhh.. Wow... Yes,
that Is Definitely the same thing I was looking at on this very screen
micro seconds ago :)

I downloaded the PrintKey util from the files area and installed it. But
the program only seems to be able to work once using the hot key until
you stop and restart it again. If you click on the hand in the system
tray and go up to print desktop it works everytime. Has anybody else run
in to this?

Todd,

The only thing I noticed to warn others about is Not to use the F6 option
when that program is active otherwise it messes with it.

I don't seem to have any problem with it. What version are you running and
what platform are you
running it on?

I am on NT4.0 SP6a, Printkey 2000 v5.01.

Also, if you are having any trouble with it, right click the icon on the
task bar, and pick about.
You can then check out the web site and/or email the author.

Another way to print screens in Vantage (or any other windows
program) is to use the PRINT SCREEN and the ALT + PRINT SCREEN keys
on your keyboard. This is a cool little function in Windows. If you
use PRINT SCREEN Windows will copy the entire screen to the clipboard
and then you can paste the screen into your favorite word processing
software (Microsoft Word, WordPad, WordPerfect, etc.) then you can
print it from there. The ALT + PRINT SCREEN keys do the same thing
except that Windows will only copy the current window (the one with
the highlighted banner at the top). The latter method is a great way
to create help documents because you can show the user exactly what
the screen looks like. Try it, you'll like it!
