Hi. There is something under the Job Management menu called Production Activity which basically can be used to create targets by Resource Group for shift patterns or periods and can be assessed against actual production figures. I have tried to give as much information as possible but basically I want to know if there is a way to progress this further with Epicor or if I am stuck with the ‘working as expected’ response and need to figure out a customisation.
My testing shows that the production quantities are counted against a Resource Group regardless of if they are entered via Kanban Receipts or Time & Expense to a job - just what we want! However, the downfall is that it only counts LaborDtl records that are not backflush operations. This doesn’t make sense to me as surely you make something in a production area regardless of whether you enter the quantity at that particular stage or the next.
The Help shows:
Select this check box to track production activity of the resource group.
(There is no mention of this not being calculated if the Resource Group is not included in an Operation that is backflush)
The only KnowledgeBase article I found (KB0038506) states:
Use Production Activity Maintenance to establish target (transactional) metrics by period using the effective plandefined in Production Activity Maintenance for resource and day.The purpose for the production activity functionality in the application is to optimize time, resources, andmaterials this is including data entry responsibilities. The actual numbers of production activity can be updatedmanually for purposes of corrections but the intent of this program is for actual values to be updated automaticallyby the application.
Again, this advises that Production Activity Maintenance uses resources and materials but no mention of backflushing not being included and specifically says that the ‘intent of the program is for actual values to be updated automatically by the application’
The production numbers can be manually updated so am I stuck with needing to write a BPM to count any backflush quantities? If you got this far, thanks for reading!
