Hello All

It may be me but . . . . .

I am running the canned Vantage Production Detail Report for various audit
purposes and I notice that in all instances it does not report Labour £'s
anywhere. I would really appreciate some feedback from other users i.e. do
you have the same omission or not?

I have been to Epicor with this but have not had a solution yet.

2 obvious things to check would be if under Payroll/Master File
Maint./Employee the labor rate has been entered. Next if you do have a
rate entered do you know when it was entered? Any labor entries made
before the rates were entered will not have a labor rate attached to
them.

We ran a production detail report on a job that has 8 asemblies.
Most of our jobs have 1 asm and we only run the production detail
on jobs that show a large variance. Fro the Profitability at the end of
the report the cost is 0.00. The actual cost 2 lines up is 16,648.86. I
have included the text from the report below. VAntage version
4.00.904

Has anyone else had this problem? The rest of the report is
accurate. Is there a work around? Is there a known cause?

We are having a similar problem. However, our production detail reports are
showing costs much higher than actual instead of at zero like yours is
showing. On our production detail reports with the problem, the operations
summary section shows incorrect costs (much higher than actual) and the
subcontract details shows the correct amount. When we go into the job
tracker/costs, "this level" costs are showing the incorrect amount.

I submitted this to Tech Support a few days ago and we were told to upgrade
to the latest patch. We are on 4.00.806.

Is anyone else having problems with incorrect totals on production detail
reports?????

Hi Russ

I have the same problem with this report and have been in conversation with
Epicrock here in the UK since November 2000 without any conclusions, I was
beginning to think it was me! I thought I had an outstanding call on eranet
regarding this issue but I can't see it.

We are on the same version of Vantage and get erroneous reports even on
single line items. As you say, the rest of the report is accurate.

I'd be interested if you make any progress (sic).

I got a response from Craig Kumpula at Epicor. He correctly
diagnosed a zero qty completed in the last operation. When I looked
at the job I found the last 2 operations had not been done (not
needed). The job was closed and the invoice posted.

Could anyone explain to me this... If using Lot costing in 5.0 how
are the material costs calculated ont he Production Detail Report.
These are mfg-stk transactions and the costs are totally skewed.
Does it not just take the cost from the part master and multiply it
by the quantity?

Production Detail report is a progress report. I don't believe you can
actually do anything to it unless you own the source code, nor do I believe
you SHOULD do anything to it. As long as you are on a Vantage version 6.1
or lower, you could do some quick reports in Report Builder. Just my
opinion.

I wrote one is MS Access. If you want it you can get it at www.ktcorp.com/vantage/PDR/
Download the file PDR.NEW and rename it PDR1.MDB
You will then need to reattach your Vantage tables via ODBC.

I have one that's specific to my environment written in crystal. It
essentially calculates estimated & actual setup/production hrs and
calculates efficiency by machine. Is this something you'd be interested
in?
