Production/Std. in operations

Thinking about it further,
I would set up the production operations at 90 qty/parent.

But I would have the packaging operation (assuming it is your 2nd to last
operation) at a qty/parent of 1 (the operators record the number of boxes
they pack). Then your receiving/shipping operation would also have a
qty/parent of 1, receiving the number of boxes into stock.

Hi,

Lately we changed all our inventory units to bx and selling unit to
pieces.

NOw it is very confusing :

When we add operations to jobs teh our productions/std is pieces/hr and
we enter the value accordingly.

But what i found is, if my job is for 90 bx. and i entered 90 in my
production/std which is piece/hr , i shows in my report that only 1 hr
is required to complete the opeartion.

which looks like that it is taking total production required in bx nit
converting that to no. of pieces.

Please help,if my suspision is correct, then we have to change huge
amount of data.
Your Inventory Unit of Measure is pc and your
Selling Unit of Measure is bx with a factor of 90?

Then your quantity per parent on each operation will all need to be changed
to 90 (you need to build 90 parts to produce one parent part, in your case
one box) and your material qty per parent will need to be multiplied by 90.

Then your standard should be boxes per hour or minute or whatever...or use a
fixed amount of time--just remember that Vantage is still going to show you
"pieces" -- the descriptions in standards are fixed -- you have several
choices in the radio box. A box in your situation would be a "piece" in
Vantage standards. Then when you ship, you'll have to translate them back.

I'm afraid you've set your operators and assembly and shipping people up to
be confused. Are these completed so fast that the quantities are too high to
report?
